Oleg Golmakov is the engineer behind COZY heaters. Oleg comes from Ida-Virumaa and studied metal engineering at the Virumaa College of Tallinn University of Technology. He has been designing metal products and heating equipment for more than 20 years, turning ideas into precise drawings, technical solutions and finished products.

Oleg no longer remembers his first sauna experience — sauna has simply always been part of his life. He has built saunas with his own hands both at his home in Tallinn and at his summer house near Lake Peipus. At home, he uses an electric heater, but for him, a true sauna is still a traditional wood-burning sauna: live fire, crackling wood and soft steam.

Oleg joined the COZY team in 2018, but his work with sauna heaters began almost ten years earlier, when he prepared technical drawings for Eesti Vanglatööstus. In that sense, part of his earlier engineering work also lives on in Stoveman heaters.

All current COZY heater models have been designed and engineered by Oleg. Modern 3D design allows him to evaluate the construction before the first prototype is made, choose the right materials and make production more precise, reliable and efficient.

For Oleg, a good heater is not only about appearance. It is just as important to understand how flue gases move, how the wood burns and how heat transfers into the metal, the stones and finally the sauna room. Based on test data, he improves each construction to achieve cleaner combustion, lower wood consumption, more even heat and softer steam.

That is why Oleg’s work is quite literally inside every COZY heater — from the first idea and computer model to the finished stove and the steam it creates.
